happy testimonial’ing!

edit: we’ve added the ability to embed youtube videos using bbcode! eg. [ youtube]coded-part-of-url-only[/youtube]

Ecliphse made you guys really happy lol. But posting these videos in the forum may be a way to get them flagged but its a fun thing to do

Just like FORCE said, I’m not completely sure if this is the best idea because our videos might get taken down if we share them with others, but I guess we’ll see how this turns out.

Flagged by youtube? Why would original content be flagged?

Anyways THIS IS GREAT NEWS TO EVERYONE!

here’s to hoping youtube doesn’t think member testimonial videos are considered “spam”, ie. violate their tos

Its not that they consider it spam its that people competing over those keywords would benefit from to taking the videos down with flag bots ect…

The only way echlipse video was able to stay up is because youtube trusts him more due to his partnership with them.

I admit that YouTube vids can get flagged by other users (jel much?) and taken down by YouTube, but if you can get yours to stay online, extra money for your video testimonial won’t hurt

@dotti Scratches chin According to the rules you could just record a five second video, upload it and claim the two dollars for the testimonial. As far as my understanding goes if you don’t want to get flagged for spamming, DO NOT add tags, extra keywords, a description that includes your referral link. I suggest just doing bare minimum which is to add “R1” in the title of the video and be discreet as possible, so YouTube won’t be able to connect the dots.

If you are keen on adding a referral link maybe instead link to a legit website that has your referral link located somewhere on the page like twitter, Instagram, your blog Blah blaah etc.

Title: Unboxing Puppet strings [R1]

oh boy oh boy oh boy, I knew I was going to have to post in this thread sometime.

90% of the time youtube does NOT take down content which is not violating any of their terms of service, the reason why referral videos get flagged is pretty obvious, it’s a paid promotion with no proof of legitmacy.

Second, Eclihpse has the video up because he mentions in the video that he is not being paid for it, he has no spam in the description, and he has done paid promotions as mentioned before, partnership or none, it would not just be taken down right away.

Not true if echlipse wasn’t a youtube partner with a large sub base his video would be down instantly.
Its all about how legit your actual channel is and the subscriber/view base it has. If all i needed to do was say “im not getting paid” in the video i would be the next RiGuy lol

if videos are kept clean as specified in the [updated] rules, ie. video is strictly a reward testimonial kept clean of “spammy” content (eg. urls of any kind, unnecessary/misleading keywords, etc), i don’t think we’ll have a problem.

but if one surfaces we’ll adapt accordingly

so basically, I can get paid to make a video.

COUNT ME IN

Time to make a 5 second video and get me some money lol but seriously I have at least 5 videos about R1 and none of them have gotten took down.(guess I ain’t popular enough yet for that to happen to me). If anyone worry about getting flag just put there r1 username for the tags or certain so certain jealous people won’t find it.

Cool! Just wait until I get a huge following on Youtube! I can see the referrals now.
Actually, I have a video of me unboxing and showing off my two rubik’s cubes I got from R1 a while ago, but it just has music in the background and no voice. I guess those wont be to hard to just rename and put in the description that i got them from R1, if that would get me the points for the video. Also I usually put that I make money from R1 and put my referral link in the description on nearly all my other videos. Havent been flagged yet.

sorry

Im so extremely happy

Record ourselves or record our voices?

We know Nite. We know.

WHY NOT POST THEM ON VIMEO? #youtubecommunism

Hope this is still going on, would love to make a video, I had one up before that got me a few referrals to, but would love to try this out as well. What is required?..

It’s still going. You should refer to this thread by dotti for all the details, but here’s the most important snippet from that thread:

Youtube Video Offer

Create a YouTube video testimonial of your reward that you got from us (eg. unboxing, receiving, using it) and get paid $2 R1 cash! If your video has YOU in it, get $5 R1 cash! Post your video to YouTube and link to it from a testimonial post here using BBCode (eg. [ youtube]encoded-url-part-only[/youtube]).

To qualify, your video must be a genuine reward testimonial, including:
Video must be clear and of reasonable length.
Video needs to be motion captured, ie. no videos of pictures please.
Audio must be of you, clearly speaking, eg. no voice mods or synths
Video title and tag must only include a description of your reward and “R1” or “Rewards1”, nothing else.
Do not include any [ref] links.
Video must not include any copyrighted content or violate Youtube’s TOS/AUP in any way.

Members may receive the youtube video credit at most once a year.

This offer is valid only if your video remains on Youtube. If you or Youtube prematurely remove the video your credit will be reversed.

Just remember that this isn’t a referral video contest, it’s a testimonial contest, meaning that only videos of you solely showing off your prize will qualify. Good luck!
