the contest starts now and runs till April 30, 2013 11:59pm
you may use any promotional material, ours or otherwise
only referrals with completed discover offers will be counted

Just wanted to share how I got a referral credit on the Discover Card offer so you have an idea of timeline…
I asked my 24-year-old brother to apply for a Discover Card through Rewards1 on February 9th, and walked him through the process through email and google chat.
(I actually asked him to consider applying for the card back in November but wasn’t able to convince him yet – he is a recent university graduate working a couple years but has never had a credit card yet, so I was encouraging him to get one so he can start building a credit history for when it comes time to wanting to get a loan for a house etc. He wasn’t sure which credit card is best, so I told him I recommend having a Discover Card because of the $ back, and also a Visa and/or a MasterCard, and to just use them as he would a Debit Card, and paying the full balance every month. When I asked again this month and sent a quick overview of how to do it, he agreed and actually applied).
The Offer credited referral cash to my account yesterday, February 27th.
I checked with him to see if he had already used the card to make his first purchase, but he said he hasn’t received the card yet. So my guess is that the offer credits when the application is approved by Discover Card.
I will be asking my brother to be sure to use the Card at least once (as described in the offer requirements).
