we have just upgraded our chat backend to node.js! what this means is chat should now be faster and more reliable.

there was a bug in the old backend where members sometimes had to refresh to see new messages. as well, we’ve also fixed it so you can now see PM’s from offline members. and a new “@” filter which will allow you to view messages addressed specifically to you, as long as the person messaging you uses the @ feature.

please ensure you’re running the latest client:

  • for web users -> refresh your browser
  • for mobile -> get the latest app (android v0.05, iOS v0.02)

Awesome! Loving the new chat, although there are a few bugs, which are obviously expected…

After a while, you will not be able to delete other’s messages UNLESS you refresh your page, and unfortunately, the mute bot has gotten more intelligent… :frowning:

Seems to work really well but the chat reopens every time I go to another page. I like to keep it closed unless I’m reading the chat.

Is it still not working for you? it seems to work for me on both firefox and chrome, can you try clearing cache?

Looks like it’s working fine now. Before it wasn’t working in the forums.

Im not sure if this is true but after the chat update the mobile versions caht seems to no longer show whos online for me.

It think its not just me, but after the update the chat doesn’t seem to work. I mean, I can see other people on the chat typing, but I can’t.

Some users reported a chat bug when they refresh on the home page there msges get deleted in chat.
