Default Your school curriculum

We all know (At least in the USA) that each state has its own regulations on education. Some states have tough and tight bands on school curriculum, while others (Texas) spend more on Our Govenor's re-elections than they do on education.

Anyways, most, if not all of us, have made good grades throughout the lower grades and, as we got older, the state education curriculum caught up with us. From what I've heard, yall all suck at school. I have never found simple memorization of subject objectives (statistics, algebra, etc.) hard. I'm graduating this year and am wondering how hard is school for you all? I am simply curious on whether or not you care for it, too. I personally couldn't give a lesser **** about public education. I took algebra 1 in eight grade, then geometry and algebra 2 at a summer camp. That was, faster (3 weeks and 108 hours of instruction per course) less repetitive, and ultamately superior to a standard course.

What I am asking is, where are you on the subject of education? Is a public learning curriculum too little to pursue higher learning? Are classes at your school too slow or too fast for the student body? What must be done to ensure a higher graduation rate, and finally; why (if you do) find school so difficult?

I'm in 8th grade; took algebra I in 7th, and am taking geometry and algebra II now.

The state curriculum (algebra I in 9th grade, etc) is just to make everyone pass grade school (how ironic), no matter your mental capabilities. However, I find the courses at my school (basically, the hardest classes of a magnet program) challenging enough (we're basically the best middle school in Texas).

Classes at my school are at a decent pace; not too dumbed down.

Higher graduation rate: institute punishments :D

I have a question relating to this topic if you don't mind:

What are the state achievement tests in your state like? Are they completely time-wasting, like the TAKS (Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills), or do they acutally provide a challenge?

Not that hard. I get good/decent grades but I slack off too much. I don't really care for have the stuff they teach anyway. Of course I say that now and I'm in a credit recovery class where they treat you like a total idiot.

To give you an idea. I finished all my lesson to receive my credit for a class I have to make up and I got to put a sticky note on a cabinet with my name on it saying what I got credit for. To make it worse I picked a regular sticky note and the teacher made me get a star sticky note instead. Funny thing is I'm a senior in high school.
