Default Abs?

I don't want to be some kind of greek god but I have noticed that I have been putting a little weight on. Could I get some slightly noticeable abs in 4 months? I have no idea how long it would take... I figured I'd just do ab ripper x 3-4 times a week.

spot reduction is a myth,

abs only show when your overall body fat is low enough to actually see them, lots of cardio (2 miles, 5 days a week) and some starting strength.

4 months is plenty, if you really wanted to you could do it in 2.

Push-ups, crunches, run, and diet. Do those four things, you'll have them in no time. The hard part is staying dedicated. Mostly just decent amount of cardio with smart eating is all it takes.

You can't target one area of fatloss like everyones said. Like the above advice do everything not just abs. Do cardio and resistance training and use free weights. A lot of exercises involve your core that you wouldn't even realize. I'm not saying dont just target your abs because you should isolate them too but don't only do abs do a little bit of everything.

Sorry for the double post, but I really didn't feel like making another thread for it. Does anyone have any motivation techniques? I tend to watch a film like American Pie or something, to get me ready for the summer. Any other suggestions?

You can get abs in 1-2 months if you work hard enough. That being said abs are useless if you dont have a good body to go with them

So you go from finding yourself gaining extra fat to deciding that you want abs?

You'll need to do more than abs and running. You're gaining weight for a reason. You need to either change your diet or up your metabolism by gaining muscle weight elsewhere.

Motivation? Just do it. Schedule it and stick to your schedule for months. No *****ing, no excuses. If you work out in the mornings, get drunk accordingly. Obviously, alcohol is setting you back, but I'm referring to the fact that a hangover is no better an excuse to skip your workout than oversleeping or hanging out with friends.

I'm assuming your overall goal is girls, so that does make it the only acceptable reason to skip
