Before I start let me just say that bean, EternalLight, Lakerzx24 and DarkRider23 really helped me with this with their guides and suggestions.

Q. Ok, so what is Rewards1?
A. Rewards1 is a website that encourages you to fill out sponsored surveys for free prizes from the website.

Q. What are the prizes?
A. Prizes can be anything from Xbox 360 controllers to World of Warcraft prepaid time cards to cell phones and ipods and can be seen here. (http://rewards1.com/prizes.php)

Q. What if I don't see a prize that I want?
A. First, go to amazon.com and browse any of their products. If you find something you like or you would want then go to the main page and enter Rewards1 Support Ticket (http://www.rewards1.com/support.php) and the awesome guys at Rewards1 will get back to you in a day or so with the amount of points need for you to claim that prize. Generally $1=1 point.

Q. How do I get points?
A. There are two ways to get points. First there are "Offers" you can complete that gives you a certain amount of points per offer depending on the offer. There are 4 different types of offers.
Free - These are the easiest and usually the quickest to do. The only downside is they are typically the lowest paying.
CC-Free, requires credit card - usually pay more but you must be careful to read the terms of the offer as they may charge after the trial period if not cancelled in time.
CC-Pay, requires credit card - are the highest paying offers, but require you to make a purchase.
Cellphone - these offers require a cellphone, and may or may not be free.

The easiest way to get the maximum amount of points from offers is by creating a few spam accounts at free email websites like: Hotmail (https://www.hotmail.com), Yahoo (https://www.yahoo.com) and Gmail (https://www.gmail.com). This will allow you to enter a valid email that you can check without having your main email spamed. Also, stay away from using fake information as it is grounds for your account to be banned. As i was told by: You must understand this rule is not actually set up by Rewards1 per say, but by the companies that run these offers. they don't like to see fake info, and if we (Rewards1) get too many reversals (cancelled leads) because of fraud then we get into trouble. We could end up losing our accounts.
Another Tip: "Do the offers from the front first. Don't worry if the ones in front are all about lipstick and mascara and the offers in the back are Ferrari's and XBox's, you want to get as many points as quickly as possible - don't be fooled by "cool" looking or high paying offers."

Q. What is the second way?
A. Referrals. (http://rewards1.com/referrer.php) Get your friends to sign up for Rewards1 with your unique link and you can get 20% of whatever they make. Also, Rewards1 often has "referral contests" where the user who gets the top 10 most referrals during a certain time period can win a nice amount of points. The only catch is that the person who is referred has to complete at least 1 offer. The complete rules for the December contest can be found here. To help you with your referrals there are Referral Banners. (http://rewards1.com/banners.php)

Q. Where should I put my referral link/banners?
A. Referral Tips:
Tell your friends - Let your friends know how they can get games and prizes for free too! Explain how everything works and make sure you help them out because if they do offers you'll get points too!
Forums - are a great place to introduce people to Rewards1. This can be something as simple as a small textlink or banner in your signature, to writing a full blown review-style post. Remember people are more willing use your referral link if you're helpful and curteous. ;-)
Be mindful of each forum's respective rules regarding spam.
Editorial - The most effective way to have people try the site out is to tell them as much as you can about the site. Share your own personal experiences, tell them about the rules and let them know what to expect.
Editorials include things like blogs, tutorials, 'how to' articles, reviews, social network sites, etc. Anything that explains what this site is about and how it works.

Networking Sites such as Myspace, Youtube, Friendster, Digg, Facebook, etc. are great ways to tell your friends - be creative!
Another great way I found to help get referrals is through sites such as Getref.com (http://www.getref.com/index.asp?id=SOCCERKYLE12)

Q. How do I use getref.com?
A. A full tutorial can be found Here. (http://www.getref.com/howto.asp)

Q. Can't I just refer myself sign up for two accounts and beat the system?
A. No, it is clearly stated in the Terms of Service that there is only 1 account allowed per person and only 1 account allowed per household. Do not try to sign up for another account on the same internet as you could be banned. R1 and the offer sites track your ISP # which is unique to your home. Also, when doing offers use only the computer that you used to sign up with and also use only in the same place you signed up at. (The ISP is different for example at your work than at your home.) There is a whole topic on this discussed here.

Q. Is there an easier way to get offers without having to type all my information over and over into all these different sites?
A. Yes, there is a program where you can type in your information and then with a simple click of the button you can fill out the applicable information instantly. The program can be downloaded from here (http://www.download.com/RoboForm/3000-2092_4-10664632.html) for free. If your main browser is Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/download.html?product=firefox-2.0.0.11&os=win&lang=en-US) (which I suggest) then there can be a button on your toolbar that you can press and it fills out your info as i stated before. I am not sure how it works on other browsers such as Netscape, Internet Explorer etc.

Q. Why am I not getting points for my completed surverys?
A. From Rewards1 FAQ
* 1. Incorrect personal information
* 2. Offer requirements not met
* 3. You did not meet offer eligibilty requirements (age, gender, region, etc.)
* 4. Your browser does not accept cookies
* 5. Your firewall, antivirus, or antispyware software is blocking cookies
* 6. You closed the offer window too early
* 7. You've completed the same offer on another site
* 8. Your form of payment didn't have enough funds to cover all costs (shipping & handling)
* 9. You used a prepaid credit card
* 10. You are not from the region you indicated when you signed up.

Q. If I do an offer and I don't get credit for it can I do it again?
A. Yes, most offers give you credit within 15-20 minutes but some can take up to a day. Before you do that offer again wait 24 hours and make sure you clear your cookies before you do the same offer again, otherwise you will probably get the same result. However, DO NOT try to redo an offer you already received credit for. It is a violation of the Terms of Service.

Q. How often should I clear my cookies?
A. A lot of people say that you should clear cookies after every survey but I like to clear them after about every 5 or 6 cookies. This gives the offers enough time(usually) to be received and credited to your account.

Q. Ok, I have a lot of points now what do I do?
A. If your prize is on the list of Available Prizes (http://rewards1.com/prizes.php) then you can choose which prize you want and click the "Request this prize" link underneath your choice of prize(s). Depending on the prize it will be 2-7 days before the prize(s) will be processed and shipped/emailed. If you want a prize from amazon.com, send a support ticket in with the link of the prize and they will tell you the cost and order if for you. Note: If the prize you request is under 25(excluding email prizes such as codes) standard shipping costs apply.

Q. I have waited so and so days, why haven't they responded?
A. Be patient! Everyone else on this website will tell you that. The guys that run this are very busy people and if they haven't responded yet they will soon!

:banana Tips :banana

Create a few free spam email accounts at sites like Yahoo!, Hotmail and Gmail to keep unwanted spam out of your main email inbox.
Use real information for offers but switch up your emails with every different offer. Have a cycle, for example: use your yahoo email, then your hotmail email then your gmail email and then start the cycle over again.
Clear the cookies after every 6 or so offers completed.
Be careful where you put your referral code, (some forums may ban you for misuse.)
Leave the windows/tabs up long enough to get the points more often.
Some offers take up to a day to be credited to you. So wait at least 24 hours before you try an offer again.
Don't try to cheat. YOU WILL GET CAUGHT!
Get your friends to join via your referral link, more points for you ;)
Put your link on your: Facebook, Myspace, Forum, Digg, Youtube, AIM and whatever other profiles you have.
Use "RoboForm" to quickly and easily fill out offers and surveys.
Use Getref.com (http://www.getref.com/index.asp?id=SOCCERKYLE12) to help get referrals for your account.
Be patient and courteous, it makes things so much easier on everyone here, and frankly, no one likes a douchebag.
If you still need help private message me and I'll be glad to help if I can

Thank you for your help with this guide but I need some help.
I have registered on the main site but not yet recived my actvation email and it's been hours. How long does it take why has not it worked?

I had trouble with this when i tried to sign up for the forum. Most of the time your junk mail filter will catch the activation email and put it in the junk mailbox. You should really start looking there for it and if you can't find it private message bean and see if they could send you another activation email. Good Luck:thumbs

Hey Guys! Like I promised here is an another installment of my Guide for Newbs:p

Filling Out Surveys

First log onto your computer ON YOUR OWN COMPUTER!
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h129/soccerkyle12/2.jpg
(Do not use a computer other than the one that you used to sign up/completed an offer on. You will get banned from Rewards1, also, do not try to make 2 accounts because it is against the rules. Also, don't let someone else complete offers on your computer because you will both get banned!)

After you log in, click on "Available Offers"
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h129/soccerkyle12/1.jpg

If you have a credit card you can do the "CC-Free" & "CC-Pay" offers but it is a lot easier and a lot cheaper to do the "Free" offers.
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h129/soccerkyle12/3.jpg

Kilawat12

The free offers are updated almost weekly and if you live in United States there will be plenty of offers to do. (I'm not sure about Canada, UK, and Australia. Sorry Guys.)
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h129/soccerkyle12/8.jpg

Click on whatever link you would like. The offers on the top are usually the ones that pay out most often. For this example we will do the "ECN Research: Shopping Spree" which is worth 0.5 points.

When you first open up the offer you need to fill out all of your information in the boxes provided.
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h129/soccerkyle12/5.jpg

After you fill out your person information you will then come to a few pages where you have to answer yes or no to questions about whether you would like to join programs, receive information, etc.
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h129/soccerkyle12/6.jpg
The easiest and quickest way to answer "No" to all the answers is to Hold "Alt" and press the "+" button. Just make sure that you select "Yes" to at least one of them.

You can know that you're done when you come to a screen that says something about "Bonus offers". After this point you do not need to continue, you might want to wait a few minutes before you close the window.
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h129/soccerkyle12/7.jpg

After every offer(I do every three or four offers) you should delete the cookies. If you haven't gotten credit for an offer you just did then try another offer before you delete your cookies.

Ok. To delete cookies you first need to open up your "Options" or "Internet Options" Firefox is on the Left, Internet Explorer is on the Right.
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h129/soccerkyle12/9.jpg

For Firefox, you have to first click "Show Cookies", for Internet Explorer all you have to do is click Delete.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h129/soccerkyle12/10.jpg

If you are running Firefox then you next have to click "Remove All Cookies" after you clicked "Show Cookies".

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h129/soccerkyle12/11.jpg

And thats all you need, you are now ready to continue doing more offers! Good Luck!

What are cookies? Why do I have to clear them?

Kilawat12
01-28-2008, 07:54 PM
Cookies are things on the internet that websites use to track your I.P. address so they can then report it to rewards1 so they can then give you the points. You have to delete them before you do offers because if you have too many on there they will prevent rewards1 from receiving the right cookies and then they will give you the points you deserve.

whats RoboForm?

Kilawat12
02-24-2008, 01:48 PM
Roboform is a program you download which can store your personal info (such as name, email, address, phone number, etc.) and then when you are filling out surveys and offers you can press a button and it will instantly fill out your information in the correct boxes. It is really useful and makes filling out surveys a lot quicker. It can also store all your passwords and fill them out for you on the appropriate page. You can download it at http://www.download.com/RoboForm/3000-2092_4-10037672.html?cdlpid=10664632

Cookies are stored items on your computer, which are put onto your computer in a folder after you visit a site and perform an action. They can be cleared by going to Tools, and Clear Private Data if running Firefox. If running IE 7, right click on the gray below your addres bar, select Menu Bar, and there select Tools, Internet Options, and Clear Cookies or whatever you need to clear there. :wink2
