Ha ha, well thats one aspect of it, I guess. I've been using Listia.com for a while now, and got rid of both tangible and virtual items: xbox live, shirts, old computer parts (I virtually OWN that market) and such. Imagine it like this: You are a new recruit, and Listia arms you with 400 points (700 if you do some tasks) and tells you to buy and sell until you own a crap load of crap and end up on the TLC: Hoarding Buried Alive show. In the end, its freaking worth it. I WAS going to write a multi post guide to totally PWNing the crip outta listia, but I am typing this on my wii, at 30 words a minute. SOOOOO... here are a quick 10 tip dual guide for buying AND selling items on listia.
BUYING
10.DON'T BUY
Ironically, the first step in buying is to stock up on funds. So, connect listia to your twitter and facebook accounts might help you get a badge (REALLY important later on) Watch the tutorial; hell, do 100-300 credits worth of offers. Once you have about $10 (1000 credits usually) you can begin.
SELLING
10.Stay Invisible
Don't waltz up to Listia and go "HURDUR WHO WANTS A DIAMOND PIMP CANE?" It won't only make you look like a jackass, but you'll only make 20-30% in credits of the expensive items woth. Start with easy things that you can email, like Xbox 48 hour codes, or Coke cap codes (although Im co-dominater of them) or just some Ultamite Game Cards off of R1 (Make em sum money, Too!) Over time, you'll get 2000-5000 credits, depending on what you sell.
BUYING
9.Know the basic bidding codes
Worded oddly, but ok. Listia is a proxy bidding site like Ebay, and there are ways to beat the system. The first, unsuggested way is to bid in high increments. That way, you'll show other members how big you/yours are, and theyll run in terror. But, along comes Jonny Rocket fingers and watch him bid 1000 credits higher than you. Don't fall into this: theres a good chance that he is trying to screw you by making you pay more on an item he doesn't care for. Know When to back out, theyll be other deals! 2nd is waiting til the last minute of the auction to bid the MOST you are willing to. Thats it.
SELLING
9.Tiered Bidding
The Best Bidding method, if you can master it. Basically, you offer something better or more if the auction reaches a certain level of credits. Practice this while auctioning virtual items. If Nintendo codes are 100 points a piece, offer to add 1 extra code per 120 credits the bid is increased. You'll rake in an extra 20%, while making the buyer happy!
BUYING & SELLING
8. Fooling the Masses
As whoever made up Jesus said, "talk enough stuff and you'll get WHATEVER you want." This loosely applies to listia. Buyers, if you LOVE an item, dont go out saying "OMG I LUV I HOPE I WIN!" Because you are either 1.Batshiit or 2.Just pulled someone into wanting to buy it. NEVER say you like an item. Id go as far as to question an items qualities, like "That seems fake" o
