Best Way to get Refferals

What is truly the best way to get referrals? I have tried many things and want to know what has worked for you. Thanks:wink2

For me, signatures in forums tend to help but then again I only have 16 referrals... make that 17. And emailing people in my Gmail as well. Speaking of which, I have to get back into mailing people...

Also, if your forum will allow it, posting a thread about how to get "free points" and directing your viewers to email you (yes, not your referral link in the thread) is effective as well.

Videos are key as well but I can't vouch for them too much as I can't determine if they can grant a notable amount of referrals to you. I'm sure someone else can vouch for vids, though.
