DISTRICT 9 depicts a fictional world where extraterrestrials have become refugees in South Africa.

Anyone else getting hyped for this movie? I've seen some of the new trailers and it just keeps looking better. Produced by Peter Jackson, so hopefully it will live up to all that it has going for it, so far my opinion is it's looking amazing. Early test screenings are coming back very good.

About time an interesting movie came along, Transformers 2 let me down, so far I think Star Trek has been the best movie of the year, and this may rival it.

Eh, Harry Potter wasn't bad. I'm surprised it was no longer just a little kids movie. Added a nice touch of humor.

District 9 looks good. So does 2012. But the main movie that I've been waiting for for over a year has been Cirque du Freak. Finally coming out on October (Twas originally supposed to come out December 2008)

Yes, and no. He was signed on to do a live action Halo film, but the idea was scrapped due to internal disagreement with Fox, Universal and Microsoft. This film is based on a short film called "Alive in Joburg", which was directed by Neil Blomkamp who was set to direct the Halo film. This film has nothing to do with the Halo film though, but it has the same director and producer because those involved felt Blomkamp deserved another chance to direct. If this film does well (especially on it's low budget), I can picture them bringing the Halo film back to the table though. He may have used some of his Halo ideas in this film, but Jackson is the producer so I think if he did it was very limited as he would save them for if the Halo film ever came out of hiatus.

Apparently, the alien CGI is pretty amazing, and being compared to "Avatar" and it's 300 million dollar budget (supposedly amazing CGI too, but not out for a while). Darn, I did a little reading and apparently this "Avatar" movie is pretty interesting too, using new 3d cameras that can produce stereoscopic images that simulate human sight.
