An add on to the .1 point per post thing.

Many people had an idea that when you post on the forums you get .1 point. Many people were afraid that there would be too much spam. So I have an idea. If you spam then you get .1 point taken off of your account. If you spam again it doubles. This might help control spam and keep the forum clean and running smoothly. If you spam too many times then your account will get terminated from the forum for 30 days. So, what do you people think? Is it a good or a bad idea still?

Yea thats a good idea but itll be kinda hard to monitor with all the people on and all the messages that are constantly bein posted.

Basically it would turn into like an instant messenger... then people will have like tons of points its literally 10 cents a post you make 10 posts a day you get 1 buck over a month you would have 30 bucks just off of forums it wont work..

If it is implemented (which is unlikely) then they wouldn't give $0.10 US for every post. If anything it would be $0.01 US a post or even lower.

Basically, you could intergrate the PHP in with the coding of Rewards1. Without seeing the coding of Rewards1, I can't help you here. But you would be using basic commands to check the users post count, and adding points. You would have to make it so they can only redeem Forum Post Points after ten points. Once they redeem it, it resets etc. Would be really hard to intergrate with current point system.

Plus many spammers would come about, spamming when Administrators and G Mods aren't online. Many posts would be around 1/50th the size of this one :-) Not contructive and something like:

That would just be a copy and paste thing. This is a bad idea, maybe once you have been a member for 6 Months+ and earned over 200 posts, then you may do it. This would cut down spam much!

Won't Happen For a Couple of Reasons.

-Too Much Hassle(already loaded with work)

-Nothing in it for them....(Unless they add Ads' too the forums which would suck)

Honestly, if this really went into effect the spamming and banning rate would be so high that you wouldnt know whats going on. And on the weekends when the mods and admins are gone, it'll be (heck) on earth..

Even IF the admins and mods had a program that would auto detect spamming and such and ban them someone would find out a way to bypass it (not like a hack or anything of that sort)
Just dont bring up this topic again, it wont happen, becuase R1 would be in the drain in less than a week.

Then there should be one mod on here every hour taking care of the spamming. At night there should be closing hours for the forum. Looks like there finally hiring another staff member for delivery. Maybe I'll get my Wii Points even faster.:lol

then the mods and admins need to actually come on to the site more than once a year to see whats going on. People would get tired of spamming eventually. plus, if someone had a high post count, then the mods and admins could check their posts, determine if their spammers, and take their points back.

It's not R1 who pays though. It's the sponsors that send their surveys to R1 that pay I believe.

well, the sponsors pay R1, who then pay for the prizes, but R1 is so small right now, i dont think they can afford such a thing. maybe later if R1 gets more popular.

come to think of it, this'll never happen anyway. R1 is a BUISNESS not a social website. They're in it to make money, we're lucky we even have a forum. They simply couldn't afford this. It'd be cool though.
