Im pretty sure it gets replaced when its there fault and your still under warranty (Which you should be as you have had it for less than a year).

Many people have had this problem. The 360 has a 30% failure rate. That's why Microsoft extended the warranty to 3 years for hardware failure.

Yeah dude I have had to have mine replaced once and my brothers has had to be replaced twice already... My suggestion, get an inter cooler for it.. It will make it a lot less likely to mess up

i dont think that would be a good idea. I heard people say they had the intercooler for like 2 months and their xbox got the rings of death...:frown

Well thats just an isolated incident, the intercooler prevents the xbox from getting too hot which causes hardware failure which is what the red ring of lights mean

A while ago, I read about the intercooler melting onto 360s. I don't think it's a good idea to get one. Just be safe and get a PS3.
.02% Failure Rate vs. 30% Failure Rate. :lol

DONT GET THE INTERCOOLER!!!! i bought that peice of **** for my 360 and in about 2 weeks i was playin halo then bam the system crashed and the red lights started flashing i turned it off and looked at the 360 and the outet where you put the power cable on the intercooler was black! and warped it took me a half hour to pry the dam thing off and when i finally did the 360 worked again and i walked outside and smashed the intercooler on the sidewalk so dont even consider buying that dam peice of **** intercooler

Yeah it does help it but I just want to be able to relex when I play video games not have a the noise of a fan.

the best option is just keep ur 360 out in the open and it'll be fine :thumbs

Shouldn't do that. The dust the fan sends in will eventually accumulate and block the intake. Only do that if you are going to clean it weekly.

lol. u know whats kinda funny about the 360. i was at my friends house watching a scary movie on his 360, but the fan was so loud that it sounded like a dragon during the quiet, scary parts. The fan takes the scary out of the movie.

No not on movies when you watch a movie the xbox goes into sleep mode and switches off 55% off it's fans.

My Xbox 360 does that every few days, I fix it, it breaks, Xbox 360 is awesome, but the system itself stinks, Everyone in the world is haveing problems with it. I open them and try to fix it to my ability but it only lasts so long.

Microsoft can't totally fix the overheating problem considering there have already been hundreds of thousands sold. They do however address the problem nicely by repairing the consoles for free and even paying for the shipping

Heh, about the intercoolers, I've heard they don't work because the 360 fan blows hot air OUT of the console, while those intercooler things draw on air outside the console and blow it IN...not a very good combination, eh? xD

Yeah but the intercoolers aren't microsoft made, so they can't really do anything about it
