View Full Version : UK gets a poor deal

Firstly, this site is amazing, rewards1 is superb, however, being in the UK, we seem to get a poor deal compared to the US.

Firstly, we have so few offers, which is disappointing, especially as many of the few do not work, or refuse to give points. This is annoying, as it means referrals is virtually the only way to get points, and to get referrals you have to annoy many people in my experience.

Secondly, our points are worth less. 1 point is worth around 50p Sterling, which is not a lot really. Also, due to the expensiveness of things over here, it is much more difficult for us to earn enough points for something expensive.

For example, rewards1 offers a PS3 to US users for 400 points, roughly £200 Sterling. However, a PS3 in the UK costs £290 (play.com) or 580 points. Therefore, doing the Maths, we need 180 more points than the US users.

If anybody else finds this unfair, and want some sort of solution, support me on this. Dont get me wrong, rewards one is brilliant, but less so if you're outside of the USA.

If your still reading, thank you.

I totally agree! Espeically "clash" and all the pages which are similar, i have reported this but yet nothing. have signed up to all the ones I can but yet no points have been added to my account!

I have got some refferals because it is the easiest way now to actually to get anywhere in the site the the "great brits :P", dont get me wrong, the site is awesome.

all i ask is we need a lot more offers, we have had 4 new offers in like 3 days.... compare that to the US, no offence.

Please change this and i am willing to back my views, challenge me =]

holz2k7
05-30-2008, 05:44 AM
no it doesnt matter with the clash offers because you dont need to click an activation link just put in random ones like a@msn.com then the next one b@msn.com thats what i do anyway

mlm2k6
05-30-2008, 05:44 AM

we are suppose to be maching the *correct* email address with both links (rewards1 and the offer) and this is not ??? still we need more offers daily!!!

How about the UK offers yield more points, to compensate for our loss of earnings? Why not make 1 point worth 75p Sterling, rather than the current 50p it is worth. If this isn't possible, make the points rewarded higher. 0.75 becomes 1 point for example, otherwise, we can't make use of any of the deals anywhere near as fast.

Can we get someone with authority to answer, if possible?

I'm not of authority, but that wont happen.
They pay you (in points) a percentage of what they get paid from that ad.
If they only get paid 5 dollars each completion from an ad, they're not going to give you 4 dollars of that...

More offers would be nice. But ill live

Larrys318
05-30-2008, 12:42 PM
well i live in the US and i agree with u 100% that its unfair for u to have to pay more for something but its hard for rewards1 to give u more points i think its worth having rewards1 look into making a fair trade off.... i still love this place tho.

davasator
05-30-2008, 02:32 PM
Don't get me wrong, this place is great. Why not allow UK users to transfer points between accounts? That way, the users get the points they want, the companies get the data they want, as people always fill in slightly differently, and Rewards1 still get the money for people filling the forms in. Everyone wins!

I'm aware that Rewards1 need a profit, dont worry

david
05-30-2008, 03:57 PM
Ok I support 100%.

I have done all the offers. (YES ALL 3 PAGES!)

And have had to resort to referrals, now I have got 1300 and am in the leaderboard but what prize do I get? 30 points if I stay in the same place, but that is a measly £15 which can't buy alot online because of expensive delivery etc here.

More offers would be nice, more that work in "my area" too. For a large amount of my offers it redirects me to a useless source.

So IMO we NEED a solution.

I am saving up for an ipod classic, £140. But that's 300 points! If you were in the states you would need 210 for the same item.

05-30-2008, 11:20 PM
The offers cant be the same in the US and UK, because US companies do not always want details of people living in the UK, it wouldn't be worth the cash to them. The UK definitely needs more deals, I have got to the point where not a single one left actually appears to be working, leaving me chasing referrals. We need some sort of solution, and can we please have someone with some kind of authority give us an answer?

Gizmo
05-31-2008, 12:55 AM
Yeah, it takes so much more time to get something worth while over here and this really needs to be looked at, I think it is unfair the amount we have to pay to get the same as the u.s.:disgust

Exactly, if i lived in the USA i'd be able to afford the PS3 now (it's 400 points for them) but instead i have to get up to 600 points, its ridiculous!

Same with the wii, its dirt cheap for Americans... its going to take me twice as long to get the points for it...

davasator
05-31-2008, 03:38 AM
We either need more opportunities to get points, greater points for offers, access to the US offers or the ability to transfer funds between accounts, can we have one of these please Rewards1? This site is good, but the UK needs something new to keep it level with the US, can someone in authority, PLEASE, give us some kind of answer?

Im behind this to, i live in the UK and the ammout of offers suck, i to only have a few left and even at that they hardly work, please can we get something sorted out cause it is an amazing site, just not so good over here in the UK

Gizmo
05-31-2008, 04:36 AM
I think the number of u.k sites it works with should increase too... I don't really like Amazon compared to play.com and they have stuff a lot cheaper there, and yes, I have now run out of offers also... shame...

davasator
05-31-2008, 06:47 AM
It has now got to the point for me, a UK based user, where I cannot do any offers (the ones left don't work, and no new ones are being added) and so am left chasing referrals. Surely the point of R1 is to make money through doing surveys, but this doesn't seem to be the case in the UK, its all about referrals, there is no other way to get decent points.

1. there are not enough offers

2. we pay double say 10$ prize 10 credits , we pay 20 credits :(

3. to get our prizes we need loads of referals. which is hard. :/ btw i think i referred dustin lol

if they can fix no 1. and no 2.

this place would be tha best in the world. :):banana

06-01-2008, 02:35 AM
completely agree with andykid7, getting points 1 and 2 would solve all the problems. Also, it would compensate slightly if UK/AUS/CAN users got access to the US deals, that way we would not need double the amount of points for prizes. Please can an admin comment on this?

I was just getting the hang of how to do them really quick.

When you get to the Yes or No, just click on the No one, press 'Tab' twice and hit spacebar. Keep doing this and you'll fly through the pages. Apart from the the old link here and there that you have to get around.

06-02-2008, 05:16 AM
So, this thread has been up and running for 4 days now, and no response from anyone in the know. Come on R1, we need some sort of response, even if its negative, just let us know where we stand. Not being pushy, we just want some kind of response.

It completely sux for us UK'ers!!
anyway those clash ones only werk if u change ur e-mail each time u do a new one e.g for one you might do:
iluvwomen99@hotmail.co.uk
then:
cogsoldier73@hotmail.co.uk
you can keep the name the same each time no need to delete cookies, etc i used a different address each time though (from the same street) then just spam the no's for easy 13 points in total.

Oh yea and apparently all we can do is order from Amazon or ebay which cost too many points cos of postage e.g what i wanna order from play.com in 9.99 and from amazon its about 13 which mean i hav to get 6 more points from offers which i havnt really got. I expect my prize to be deleted in a couple of days.
If rewards1 ordered from play.com for UK it would be a bit better:D

davasator

davasator
06-05-2008, 06:59 AM
Yes, I had a message from support, simply put all the items you wish to order in one custom order, quoting the message: Please know that you are able to bundle your prizes into one custom prize request. All you have to do is place all three URL links and name of the item in the 'message' section. In the price field all you have to do is put in the total of all three items (in your case, this would be 15.05 GBP). It should then allow you to custom request your three prizes.

Hope that helps

The only real solution is for rewards1 to work harder to find more offers for us. Giving us more points per offer wont work since thats how they are making their money to fund this site. No chance of a better exchange rate from points to pounds as this will also lose them alot of money. There must be plenty of sites out like the ones in the offers already.

And im definately up for giving us more sites to use; such as Play (possibly the 2nd best site in the world; behind this :P). Dont see what's stopping them; its a trusted site and will definately be more appealing to new UK customers of this site

come on rewards1, help us out :(

I've managed to complete all Clash offers. Some took quite a lot longer to credit than others. Complete loads, then come back after a week and see if they've credited.

As for the 1 point = £1.50 idea... that wouldn't work:

1 point = $1 = 50p/60p

That's thanks to America's cheap dollar! This is of course, on of the few problems with the cheap dollar. It's good for other things, like going over to America and getting Macs a couple of hundreds cheaper than they are over here... that's when the cheap dollar is good.

Its not possible for points to be worth more, as it reduces the profit that Rewards1 makes, more offers is really the only solution, or access to the US offers.

The Stig
06-10-2008, 05:20 AM
I doubt that'd be possible either because the advertisers say where they want the offers to be advertised.

davasator
06-10-2008, 05:59 AM
Sorry, you misunderstood me, my fault, didn't write the last comment that well. What I meant was UK users should have access to the offers that R1 gives US users. For example, the 400 points is a PS3, rather than the 560 points we need in the UK, that'd make it fairer.

The Stig
06-10-2008, 06:43 AM
I guess the points are like that because of the prize prices on Amazon. Stuff like that is always more expensive in the UK because of tax and shipping etc.

Although it might be cheaper to pay the US price and get it shipped over lol.

Naturally, R1 want as many users as possible, as they make the most money that way. However, users are only beneficial to R1 if they are doing anything. If a user just does nothing, they don't make much profit. Its benficial for them to give UK, CAN and AUS users offers to do.

Not promoting ********** in any way, but for the UK they manage to get around 13-14 pages worth of offers. I'd say around 11 or so pages of those are free. Those no reason rewards1 cant get more offers if they are definately out there. I am aware they are quite busy with the huge influx of people from May referral contest, but still feel they slightly neglect the UK, AUS, CAN in favour of USA purely because it has the most users...something must be done

*shakes fist in air*

Why don't they emplo someone, with the sole purpose of finding offers for UK, AUS or CAN? They'd make more profit than they'd lose in wages. And why has nobody commented whose an admin, this has been here almost 2 weeks i think. Come on!!!

None of us have a problem with using R1 over other programmes, and we all know that that'll be your referral link,

You made it sound like Rewards1 has something personal against the UK. They're looking for offers, just be patient.

im sorry if it came out to look like that

but it still is quite petty that the US gets more offers in a day than the UK gets in a week

As a company based in the US, it is easier for them to get more US offers, maybe they should employ someone in the UK, or somebody to concentrate on getting UK offers. R1 already seem to be overrun with things to do, so maybe more personnel would be a good thing

No, it's fine. And I agree the UK should recieve a lot more offers than they do now. After all, it'd seem as though they might be Rewards1 may be losing buisness with some of you guys. I also agree that someone should be hired from the UK, or have an already existing member of the staff to concentrate their time on looking for Canada, UK, and Austrailan offers. I believe more staff should be hired either way. With the prize claims slowing down, I'm sure Rewards1 could use all the help they could get.

could the slowing down process of prizes, lack of intrest around the world on surveys spark the end of rewards1? :crap

****ing hope not

Doubt it, but they'll need some sort of shake-up to get sustained interest from countries other than the US

is there anyone that is known on rewards1 forums that has the power to change things on the actual site because if there is they should definitley do something about this

If i spent the same amount of time at a real job than I have messing around on rewards1 and trying to get referrals I'd probably have enough cash to buy loads more games lol

I agree that rewards1 should put up a lot of free offers like they did with the U.S.

Im from the UK. And I only do the Clash offers, Plum Offers, and UKPrizeDraw offers. Once in a while I may do other offers, but these are guaranteed payments if you do them properly, with real details and a different e-mail address.

Also as for your poor deal, instead of going to play.com try visiting ebay.com and looking for stuff in USD. Just because your from the UK doesen't mean you have to order in GBP, you can order in USD. So your PS3 would only cost you 400 points, + shipping maybe, but thats not gonna come near 180 points lol :D

Use your brains, there not in your feet...

I'd like to agree with the general opinion. The UK NEEDS more offers. We only have about 3 pages of which some don't even work...
Please work on the amount of offers rewards1! :thumbs

They are trying as much as they can, but they can only get offers if companys are interested in the advertising.

Gah, i think this is worthy of a bump. I'm running dry on offers to do that work here in the UK. It's all fine and good having refferal contests but for people like me i'd rather be doing offers than finding refferals.:thumbs

They're seems to be a lot of UK members. One of them is from one of my refs.

Also, I'm guessing quite a few, including myself, are struggling to get referrals anyway. So the points aren't really flowing in...

:bananaI have an idea, why dont all of us from the UK chip in some effort and search for some survey companies based here in the UK, then we can mail the addresses to the mods and have them contact them to try and arrange a partnership.

UK companies are bound to pay more than US, probably just under double, that means a possile double points for us????

What do you think?

I wouldn't complain about getting double points for each offer :D
I'm happy with what I'm getting at the moment, but I wouldn't mind seeing some new UK offers :p

You know what, thats actually a pretty good idea but im not sure people are actually going to take time out to find these survey sponsors but if we could that would be great for all of us.

Yeah they need to give the uk better deals and more points, why should we get a worse deal than others just because of where we live, still a great site dont get me wrong.
