Well.. First you should learn how to make backgrounds outside of just solid colors, haha. There's a lottt of tutorials on how to make simple backgrounds.
Just google "Photoshop tutorials" and 358745 things will come up.
The animated text annoys me for some reason.. Just me lol.

Practice and you'll get better quickly.
At least you know how to use layers. :thumbs

Youtube isn't great for tutorials, lol..
Deviantart.com is a good place to learn. In the search bar, search for potoshop tutorials.
tutorialized.com is good too.

Haha yeah, I'm going to be honest and say it looks bad :D. Like dommzy said, go to deviantart.com or tutorialized and read up on some tutorials. When you search "sig tutorial" or "tag tutorial" on deviant art you will get results to tons of great step by step tutorials that will help you get familiar with photoshop. Like dommzy said again, they will all start off on how to you can create a desireable background which is key in making a nice banner wallpaper, whatever.

Is that the purple apple i had domm search for in ayottex21's thread? lol, Anyways..I think it looks good, although the background doesn't match with the purple, or red. But good job either way. And if you like using renders, try Planetrenders.net. They also have tutorials, that's how i got so good.:thumbs
