Forum cleanup wasn't going as good as I'd hoped and I've only myself to blame for that. So allow me this opportunity to explain whats going on, tell you my thoughts and what we have planned.
The purpose of the forums is to provide a place for Rewards1 members to meet and discuss all things related to Rewards1. Simple right? :lol2 However due to the incredible growth we've been experiencing, we're coming across some "growing pains". The current state of the forums is an example of this and I want to thank you for your patience as we work through this.
First, allow me to formally introduce myself. You know me as your friendly neighbourhood admin, but as some of you may have already guessed I am one of the founders/owners and Senior Manager of Rewards1. The buck stops here I do read all my PMs (though not always in real time) and i apologise in advance if i don't reply - which leads me to my next point... allow me to re-introduce Muggsy.
As opposed to what some of you may think, Muggsy is not a homeless 13 year old kid in junior high. :lol2 (we bug him about that here still) Muggsy works for Rewards1, is part of our staff, and is officially in charge of the forums. Its his job to make sure everything is in order, including handing out infraction points - which can lead to forum account suspensions. If things get bad enough, he can even recommend Rewards1 account bans. The R1 staff are all patient and courteous, but its best not to aggrevate them. :twocents
The third member of the R1 forums team is Brown Bear, who will be helping Muggsy out here in the forums. Any Rewards1 related general questions feel free to ask any of us and we'll be happy to help if we can.
I know many of you have expressed interest in helping us out as mods, etc, and for this I'm grateful. The unfortunate circumstance is that the decision was made that we cannot have non-staff personnel as mods because ultimately mods represent Rewards1 as a company and this is not an option.
The forums is to have a place where the R1 community can get together and chat, get help, hang out, etc. The goal is to create community of members helping members. The staff is just here to make sure things run smoothly.
The forum rules are pretty common sense: Be kind to your neighbour, and no spamming. (a copy of the rules can be found here: http://forums.rewards1.com/faq.php?faq=forumrules#faq_rules)
Until next time :banana
