Ridiculous Referrals

Well, i've never been this happy with R1 than i am now. I used up all of my points for GTA 4 coming in my mail soon. I immediatly bounced back in 2 days and now have 26 points, just from referrals...at this rate i can buy a Wii for my sister's birthday (in JulY)

Swansea, the main thing you need is good tags and a good name because something like "Rewards1 is the best" as a video name is no good as noone knows what it is.

You want proof? Ok, I'll give you both circumstantial proof and absolute proof. In fact I could even make a thread about it if you really wanted. :)

I have the original photoshop files (yes, all the backgrounds for my video were made using Photoshop) and the Movie Maker file (yes, it's the only video maker I have).

Would that be proof enough, added to the fact that I was the first to upload the video on Youtube?

Edit: It seems I *don't* have the Photoshop file (if I knew I'd be copied I would have saved it) - BUT I do have the background without any text etc on it, with the same 'modified' date as that on which I uploaded my video. Same goes for the moviemaker file. Would that do? :)

Edit2: NM! Just found a file which has a seperate image for each slide (higher quality than the YouTube video, so I couldn't have just print screened them) and also the movie maker file - want me to post them? =]

It's annoying when you get people who are too lazy to make their own vids, and then lie to pretend that its actually theirs, or that they didn't know etc.

As I said in the other thread, hope you get it sorted mate :)

Also, about the watermarking videos thing - I tried to after my first video was stolen and made my slides have a really faint watermark that you would only see if you were looking for it - only problem is that when I converted it for Youtube, it became too blurred to see xD Slightly gutted there.

actually, one of my vids is uchicake's. My friend downloaded his vid from youtube and sold it to me for 5 bucks. He said "it was his best work yet" He really like it and so did i. But im getting most of my points from something i made though.

It remains, however, that you still do not have the right to use that video. I am the creator, and I alone am able to distribute the rights to use that video; it doesn't matter how much you paid for it (if you did indeed pay for it; I'm accustomed to your lies now), I don't want you to use it. I'd rather you take it down than me have to report you, but I will if it comes to it.

Furthermore, its MY video that comes up as the second link when you search "Free GTA4" on Google, and I'd imagine that's where the majority of your referrals are coming from.

We've gone over this and it's not nice to use other people's work for your own profit. So, take it down.

We made a mutual agreement and until you can take it up with him, i, by law, (as a customer) do not have to forfeit the item i purchased since it was my seller's negligence....yes, i did just pull law on you...im good like that

Negligence does not come into it. When it comes to copyright law, if you know that it is not your content, and you have been asked by the rightful owner not to use it, the fact that you bought it from a third party is not relevant.

Furthermore, what branch of negligence do you suggest it is? He has not been negligent to me in any way. It doesn't affect my statutory rights with regards to a breach of copyright in any way.

Negligence is only relevant in that you can bring an action against him in the pure economic loss branch of the tort of negligence, yet, as your loss is monetary there's more restrictive rules. However, you'd still struggle. Yes - the case of Smith v Eric Bush says that you can claim for a negligent act (read - selling you the video), but this has to be in an appropriate setting. A social setting would not be enough.

Yes. I just pulled the law on you *****. Guess what? I currently study law, and I will be moving on to do it at University in a very good university in the UK next year.

I'd rather not argue since I really can't be bothered - but hell, I'm not going to lose a legal argument to you.

Blade, I have nothing against others beating me in the contest. In all actuality, I do NOT want to win this. You may or may not understand it, but here it goes. If I were to be the winner of this contest it means, I have little (if anything) I can learn from you people about referrals. I will not learn any new methods or anything of the sort. By other members beating me, it gives me a means of learning. I will eventually discover the root of referrals, and even if that puts me back to your youtube videos, I can still learn something. More referrals means more members. More members will mean more benefits for us. I'm not cheering against you guys for referrals, in fact quite the opposite. If they do that they have to put it in a important part because people that download their video they can just cut it out at the end. So you have to stick it somewhere they cant cut it off...I recommend a image in the corner...a watermark I believe its called
