Its been brought to our attention that a number of members are using deceptive and misleading ways to get referrals. There is currently nothing in the TOS against this, but expect that to change.

When a new referral comes to the site and realizes they've been deceived, chances are they will not return. This hurts both you and Rewards1. You lose out on potential points, and Rewards1 loses a potential member.

For now, you may still continue promoting the site following the current TOS, as the decision has been made to NOT put the new rules into effect until *after* the May Referral Contest.

Yeah I have to agree I have seen Youtube videos offering so called Sign up bonuses of 200 points if you use my referral link they say it's the hacked link but these are not real. I'm not sure if this is the type of thing you are talking about but it seem like it.

Yeah, I'm sure this has been pointed out already. There are the "sign up with me as your referral and you will get a (insert random bull**** here)." Things like 20% of what I make, a sign-up bonus of x-credits ect ect.

A classic example i saw was when somebody had made a 'rewards1 hacked link get 750 free points' video...then you look down the related video side and a couple of people had stolen it......if you're gonna be a lowlife cheat at least be a bit more creative and original! lol

Woo! Get a few of those indexed videos out of here! Nothing like making those lucky indexed people lose there spots because they were deceptive.

Exactly! Plus I have seen a one by asenior member here saying that you can get 20% of what he makes aswell. I'm not going to mention name but that is deceptive too.

that's how I ended up here but I'm earning honest points of my own with a clean marketing technique, no lies. I haven't got a referral yet but like you said, it can lead to less R1 traffic if people keep lying about it. I'm sure that the person who tricked me is getting a a$$load of my points which really pisses me off.

yea i'm really glad their doing something about that. there's like a million scam videos on youtube....they need to put those scammers in their place!!!!!!!

YouTube? Go to facebook and myspace. There are so many scams, spammers, and phishing attempts going on there that makes YouTube seem virtually untainted. I mean the only time you really find spammy videos on YouTube is if your are searching for something pretty specific (or dirty).

whats phishing?

Eric Sherman
07-03-2008, 03:50 PM
It's where you click a link and you are brought to a site that looks exactly like myspace. You are brought to the home page and think you were just signed out, but in all reality you were sent to a site that isn't myspace and you enter your login information, and you are then automatically re-routed back to myspace not suspecting a thing because you were still logged in there.

Hard to explain. Basically when your friends start posting random bulletins with weird links, and strange comments to you, they were probably phished.

Hmm... maybe you could make a domain name that would be like reards1.com

roblanownz
07-03-2008, 04:29 PM
domain name? u can buy ur own domain
http://www.active-domain.com

and reards1.com
is already a purchased domain.

Eric Sherman
07-03-2008, 04:31 PM
Unless you host your own sites. You can set up your own server with about $400. As for the domain, I'm not quite sure how they get that to work. I'm to young to start scamming again... been caught before... WoW accounts :p

Yeah, but some myspace pages are like. myspace.com/picutres/images.jpg.2368467195skjgdah04398g32h9235g-0n45y Nobody studies it that closely...

Not to be rude but, grow a spine you don't need the members that are trying to scam other people. It's obvious that they aren't going far on your network anyways. If I were you I would ban any member participating in said activity.

The Rewards 1 ban list
These are all the people who are using deceptive ways and so called “hacks” to get referrals on youtube.
I made this list up, so it will be fare for me and other people(and I was bored)
· http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XujB6Jhnxf0 - referrer_id =150608
· http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHZRUA27dUs - referrer_id=84225
· http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfW1AU_FOXM - referrer_id=18266
· http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx8bSBAz-pk - referrer_id=10937
· http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnfNGzRuEkU - referrer_id=59497

This is just a few videos, there are thousands left.
I hope all these people with get banned FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!
It would be great if more people would add to this or something, so we get a giant list. So after the referral contest, we can ban them all!!!!!!!!!

Well, yeah, I stuck my rewards1 referral link in the description because it gets 600+ views a day. But I don't claim that my rewards1 ref link is hacked.
