It was a bot for getting CP(childporn) useres and it asked me if I wanted some and I said yes as a joke. Then it said over and over again that I was being contacted by the police and someone was on there way to arest me. And they even said that someone else on there forum got arested for the same thing. I asked on the forum what to do and they said that I should get off there forum for like a couple of weeks and also log out of my account on there forum and sign off the internet and shut down my computer for a few weeks. The forum users told me to unplug my internet from the box and the computer and unplug the power to the box on the wall and the box, and they said unplug the ethernet cable from the box and computer. One more thing they said was to unplug the coaxel cable from the box and the wall and shut down the power to the internet on the box outside. The bot also said that it knew my IP ADRESS and it also stated that I was useing Verizon internet and it also stated that I was in the Washington DC are witch I am and useing.

People were really making that big of a deal about it? I don't think you have anything to worry about personally. The fact that he knows you ip, and ISP isn't some crazy thing. A lot of sites, when you visit them, log your ip, isp, browser, and some other things. They can easily know where you live because of your ip address.

The thing is, this is IRC chat. And you said one word. You could have been replying to someone else or something. As long as you didn't get any cp or post any you should be ok.

If worst comes to worst, some guys will come to your house, search your compy and find nothing. That will never happen though.

Personally, I wouldn't worry. I don't think you have to go to drastic measures and unplug every cable in your house. And besides, Ips can be changed so easy: Whatismyip.com

They won't track you down, it's pretty hard even if they know your IP because the company giving you your internet would have to tell them your address. Most internet providers won't do this unless they are required by law, which probably isn't the case for you. Remember that big music stealing bust a few years ago? Music companys were trying to force internet providers to give up the information, they wouldn't.

lmao Internet Providers like AOL, Verizon, etc WILL hand over information to proper Authorities.
Thats exactly why hackers turn to special ISP's like Cloud Nine (which is now closed and transfered users to Zetnet)

Why the hell would you say yes u want child pron even if it was a damn bot,
but i believe that they cant do anything unless they had proof you would accept it.
like if they sent you a link that recorded visitors ip, they could say u intended to watch it cause u clicked on link, or if they tried to send u a fail saying it as pron and u accepted.

if u must watch pr0n, stick to 18+ pr0n :thumbs
lol

Really? I was rather young like 7th grade when that whole sha-bang took place. I guess I wasn't really paying attention when the teacher was talking about that in computer class. It was that whole kazaa or whatever it was called. Anyways yeah, stick to 18+, it's prolly better anyways ;)

lol just read ur 2nd post this is a legit bot.
if they have ur ip address Fu(k it log on the internet and go about ur daily business (and not child pr0n if u really do, who knows)

cause if they have ur ip and intend to do anyhting ur already doomed.
Your ip is all they need

Dude, seriously. Search it on Google. The only result I found was some kind of joke bot >_>. Seems to me you have nothing to worry about, probably just a prank!

Dont even worry about it... Do you know how simple it is for a person to code a bot and then stick it in a random iRC channel hoping for someone to respond to its. All it is is a simple If;Then statement... Like If response = yes; then echo(You will be arrested we know where you live)

But Like I said don't sweat it. Its just some nerd who beats off to other people getting scared...

Lol!
THey were just messing with you.
No actual undercover police or anything at that would say: "We're sending the police to arrest you, so stay there! Alright! Don't move. I mean it! You promise? Pinky swear?"
