Lol go easy on him he probably didn't know the rules. A good way to get referrals is to put your referral link in your sig in forums, or make a simple video on youtube explaining everything rewards1 has to offer.

Here are some sites that you can try for referrals

Forums
Topix.com
wiichat.com
XBOX.com
Cheapassgamer.com
Gamesoot.com/forums
Ign.com/Forums.

Others
Myspace
Facebook
Digg
Piczo
xanga
Blogspot

Good luck. :thumbs

A few *coughawholelotcough* of my tips:

You might want to reserve a good domain name, one that would be popular for desperate deal seekers (ie. get-a-free-"___".com). It should lead to a simple website explaining in detail how rewards1.com works. And of course, don't forget that it should give your personal rewards1 link. :thumbs To get the most referrals possible, include in your website a guide with easy-to-follow steps for earning and redeeming prizes. The more neutral your writing is, the better (no one trusts a guide with lots! of! exclamation!! points!!! and CAPITAL LETTERS). It's important to edit it more than once, and always let your inner OCD decide whether it's ready or not :smile
(:help).

I suggest using Microsoft Office Live's hosting and domain services (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officelive/default.aspx). Their free package is good for one domain name (and no, you won't have ".hotmail" or anything else at the end of it), 500 MB of hosting (more than enough for our purposes), and 25 free e-mail adresses (they look like "____@whateveryourdomainnameis.com").

Unfortunately, you must have a credit card to register. They say they need it to validate you as a real person, even though the service is free (apparently people without credit cards are not real. :frown See their faq (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officelive/FX101955581033.aspx)). Also, using the service means you have to deal with Microsoft, which for some people is not the most ethical corporation out there.

Once your website's in place you can, as Lakerz mentioned, link to it in your signature at a variety of forums. This saves sig space and doesn't make you look like too much of a jerk (people get their axes ready when your signature takes up half the screen). To follow through completely, you may want to spruce up your site with graphics and add a few testimonials from other users. For a hard and unneccessary but extremely rewarding step, you can optimize your site so that it appears near the top of Google's list when someone searches for some specific keywords (ie. Rewards1+help). This (http://www.bu.edu/webcentral/learning/google/index.html) is a good (if brief) lesson on the subject.

But the number one thing you need is patience. There's no such thing as a free lunch, and the good ones have to defrost in the microwave.

There are endless ways to get referrals. You may hit up google and find some forums that accept referral links and banners. You may make your very own blog or website explaining how to earn free items so people believe that's it legit. AIM, MSN, Xfire, or any other IM works great for these kinds of sites. Also there are 2 sites where you may get refs called StarReferrals and Getref.

I didn't see the original post so I can't comment on what was said, but there are some great referral ideas in this thread.

Nunzilla those are some excellent tips you've given :thumbs , creating a landing page for qualifying traffic is key - this is exactly what successful referrers do.

For those who don't know, a landing page (or site) is where surfers go before you send them to where you really want them to go (ie ref link). This can something as simple as a tutorial page, to something as elaborate as a whole "Rewards pre-tour". The purpose of the landing page is to prep or "qualify" your traffic before sending them to the real thing.

You can use something like blogspot for a simple landing page, or go all the way and get your own site/domain - the former is definitely easier, but the latter payoff is definitely higher if done correctly.
