what is the dot trick

i was reading a forum and a mentor said somthing about the dot trick.what is it and how do u use it.

Dot trick refers to dotting your email. This only works for gmail accounts though.
So lets say your email is rewards@gmail.com. you can dot the email and change it to re.wards@gmail.com or r.e.w.ards@gmail.com etc. This might come in handy when you want to redo an offer.
